In 1947, a young shepherd named Muhammad edh-Dhib lost a sheep while grazing in Qumran (present-day West Bank). Hoping to find his sheep, he traversed the steep cliffs of the Judean Wilderness and stumbled upon a cave. He threw a stone into the cave, hoping to drive his sheep out, but heard the sound of breaking pottery. He struck a jar containing ancient scrolls, thus unlocking one of the greatest discoveries in Western civilization: the Dead Sea Scrolls. These ancient scrolls had been carefully preserved in jars and hidden within the caves.

Over the next eighty years, archaeologists from around the world discovered more than a dozen caves in the Qumran region near the Dead Sea, unearthing nearly 40,000 scrolls written on animal skins or papyrus. Research indicates that these scrolls were written between 300 BC and 100 AD, in Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek. Most were written on sheepskin, calfskin, and some on papyrus.

Because the Roman Empire captured Jerusalem in 70 AD and burned the Jewish temple, inflicting genocidal destruction on Jewish culture, a group of Jewish hermits sealed these precious scriptures and documents in clay jars and hid them in caves, awaiting future discovery.

The over 800 recovered Dead Sea Scrolls encompass a wide range of texts and can be roughly divided into three categories based on their content: the first category comprises nearly 200 volumes of the Old Testament; the second category comprises a significant proportion of prophetic texts, including prophecies of the end of the world and how God will destroy evil forces, the angelic war in the ninth heaven, and the new heaven and new earth at the return of the Messiah; the third category includes topics such as architecture, music, book reviews, legal texts, and even treasure map scrolls.

The Dead Sea Scrolls are the oldest biblical texts ever discovered, each over 2,000 years old. Prior to the Dead Sea Scrolls, the oldest known manuscript of the Old Testament was the Masoretic translation, written in Hebrew around the 10th century AD. The lack of the original text has fueled centuries of disagreement among Christian sects, fueled by questions about the authenticity and reliability of the Old Testament. The discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls fills the history between the birth of Jesus and the 10th century AD, confirming the Old Testament’s contents.

These texts offer a valuable insight into the period between the Hebrew Bible and the Mishnah, and between the Old and New Testaments. During this era, a significant topic was the explosion of speculation about supernatural beings, their roles, and even their names. In today’s terms, we might call them angels and demons. The Aramaic scrolls, in particular, have played a crucial role in restoring the biographies of otherworldly beings, both benevolent and malevolent. They have also explored the origins of angels and demons. The Dead Sea Scrolls have also helped resolve numerous controversies surrounding New Testament texts. In particular, the prophecy of the “War between the Sons of Light and the Sons of Darkness” provides more specificity for events previously obscure in both the Old and New Testaments. Researchers have discovered that countless angels predicted descending to Earth after the angelic war is staggering, and each one has a name and a ministry.

For years, scholars from around the world have been fascinated by the mysteries surrounding these scrolls. Where are the angels who fell to Earth today? Is our time the age of explosive thinking described in the scrolls? Is it an age of coexistence between angels and demons?

The Fall of the Rebel Angels is an oil painting created around 1666 by the Italian late Baroque artist Luca Giordano. It depicts the scene mentioned in the Book of Revelation, where the Archangel Michael leads the heavenly armies to expel the rebellious angels (the fallen angels who later became demons) from heaven and into hell. The painting depicts the conflict between good and evil and God’s suppression of the forces of chaos. (Photo: Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna, Austria)

Seventy years after the discovery of the scrolls, a Saint from the East revealed to his disciples in Brooklyn, New York in 2016: “There really were some Gods who came into the Three Realms. They saw from the heavens that the kings of their world, the main Gods of their universe who have come down from their paradises into the human world, are doing very poorly in the human world, and so they are extremely worried. Dafa has been taught, and yet they still refuse to wake up and are doing bad things. These Gods know they could not be saved, so they came themselves, wanting to awaken that person. The Three Realms are off limits, and those who manage to come in cannot leave. After coming in they became just like humans. Some had wings, flying around. But gradually, they lost the ability and could not fly. In the end these beings died among humans. There really were a few who came in. There were also other forms, but once they came in they could not get out and had to become like humans. They died here.”

The Saint also said that only a very few small number of people could see these flying angels. Perhaps those who could see these angels were rural people, perhaps unable to use mobile phones to film and publicize them like those city dwellers. Thus, not many people pay attention to this. However, this modern Saint’s revelation has only deepened people’s fascination with the prophecies of angels on Earth found in ancient scrolls 2,000 years ago.

The painting shows the biblical scene from Luke 2: the angel announces Jesus’ birth to shepherds in the fields at night. The shepherds are gathered, looking up in wonder and awe as an angelic figure appears, surrounded by light, which contrasts with the darker nighttime setting. Eighty years after the discovery of the scrolls, on September 10, 2025, Charlie Kirk, a young American who was spreading the gospel of God, was shot and murdered by a young man in public. This incident shocked the United States and reverberated around the world. Should people resort to violence to resolve disagreements and end their differences by killing each other?

Charlie Kirk was a devout Christian missionary who, at the age of 18, decided to spread an orthodox view of life and God’s teachings to young Americans. In particular, he openly opposed transgender relationships, urged young people to take responsibility for their sexual behavior, and opposed birth control pills and abortion. He believed these actions would drive people insane and violate God’s will for humanity. His open, counter-trend preaching resonated deeply with young people, but also drew the hatred of those who opposed him. The young man who shot him was a transgender supporter who, resenting Charlie Kirk’s remarks, seized the opportunity to shoot him.

After the incident, many people who didn’t know Charlie Kirk well began to follow his story and videos. Those who knew him described him as someone who never turned down anyone and whose smile was seen daily. He connected well with everyone he met. His approachability and eloquence with rebellious American college students were particularly remarkable.

Charlie Kirk’s smile was sincere and frank. He was tall, and everyone felt that his presence in the room was full of energy.

Although he interacted extensively with many conservative American politicians and helped the Trump campaign reach a large number of young voters, and his influence in American politics grew, his openness and positive attitude remained unchanged. After Trump’s victory, he did not negotiate any positions or rewards with Trump. This is truly rare in today’s materialistic world. While he was not short of money, he was not wealthy. Charlie Kirk clearly fought for his beliefs, not for money. This might be one of reasons why he is remembered so fondly.

Charlie Kirk might also be one of the angels prophesied in the ancient scrolls, descending to earth to bring light and dedicating his life to the cause of truth. While Charlie Kirk was active during his lifetime, his talks and video lectures were still relatively unknown. After his assassination, a much wider audience suddenly discovered his talks and video lectures. Although he is no longer alive, the views on his community channel are skyrocketing daily.

Charlie Kirk’s books, podcasts, and songs have reached the top of the charts. His radio show and podcast, “The Charlie Kirk Show,” reached number one on Apple Music’s podcast charts. It also topped Spotify’s top podcast charts on the Monday following his assassination. Kirk’s upcoming book, “Stop in God’s Name: Why Honoring the Sabbath Will Change Your Life,” is currently the top-selling book on Amazon. In it, he urges people to take a day off from the internet and their phones, letting go of distractions, recharge their souls, and reconnect with God, their families, and themselves.

From the Dead Sea Scrolls two thousand years ago to the revelations of that Eastern Saint, Gods guidances have never ceased. For on Earth, there are so many of God’s people, and even more angels who have descended to this mortal realm, carrying out angelic works in the world in preparation for the final battle between good and evil. Perhaps, like Charlie Kirk, these angels, both visible and invisible, hope that people will return to tradition and morality. Gods do not wish to see their people continue to fall and sink, so their footprints continue to be seen in the human world.

The exterior walls of the Sucevita Monastery in Romania’s Bukovina region are covered in exquisite frescoes depicting magnificent scenes of angels saving fallen humanity. In the paintings, people cling to the stairway to heaven, desperately struggling to escape the pull of the beasts of hell. The frescoes of this church silently convey the message that every choice in life determines the soul’s ultimate destination.
