With five new signatories onto the Artemis Accords, (53 total countries joined as of 1/27/25) the agreements as the Accords state: [is to] necessitate greater coordination and cooperation between and among established and emerging actors in space.

The CCP is currently dumping trillions of dollars per year into its own space program, not to venture into vastness of space in a spirit of cooperation and collaboration, but to assert dominance by threats and coercion.

According to Dr. Michael Salla, a scholar in international politics, conflict resolution and U.S. foreign policy, China, under the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) had been barred from joining the Artemis Accords.

Dr. Salla stated that on January 11, 2001, a “Space Commission Report” had been created to protect the US satellite grid from a future Space Pearl Harbor.” The Space Commission Report identified China, “under its asymmetric military strategy” of developing systems capable of crippling the U.S. energy network and communications.

In a 2014 hearing by the Subcommittee on Cybersecurity (part of Homeland Security Committee), Representative Scott Perry singled out China as a major threat to international stability. He stated ‘“China’s military doctrine openly describes EMP attack as the ultimate asymmetric weapon, as it strikes at the very technology that is the basis of U.S. power. Where EMP is concerned, “The United States is more vulnerable to attacks than any other country in the world”’. The report also stated that China has incorporated EMP attacks into their military doctrine.

In January 28 to February 4, 2023, a high-altitude balloon originating from China flew across North American airspace. The balloon was generally innocuous in and of itself, but sent a message to the Pentagon that the U.S. could be shut down in a moment’s notice.

Had the balloon been carrying an EMP device, detonation of it, or shooting it down would result in widespread damage to the U.S. energy grid.

An example showcasing an EMP’s destructive power had been stated in the 2014 hearing, “In 1962, the United States conducted a test named STARFISH Prime where the military detonated a 1.4-megaton thermonuclear bomb about 25 miles above Johnston Atoll in the Pacific. In space, six American, British, and Soviet satellites suffered damage, and 800 miles away in Hawaii, burglar alarms sounded, street lights blinked out, and phones, radios, and televisions went dead. While only 1 percent of the existing street lights were affected, it became clear that electromagnetic pulse, or EMP, could cause significant damage.”

In behind-the-scenes meetings in the Artemis Accords, representatives from countries around the world agreed that the adversarial nature of the CCP, given its overt threats, would not be qualified to join the organization.

In Dr. Michael Salla’s book, Rise of the Red Dragon: Origins & Threat of China’s Secret Space Program, Dr Salla noted, “The U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission in its 2019 report to Congress: In 2019, Beijing stepped up its efforts to promote itself as a global political and economic leader, offering the clearest evidence yet of its ambition to reshape the international order so it benefits Chinese interests and makes the world safe for the CCP [Chinese Communist Party]. General Secretary of the CCP Xi Jinping continued to tout the CCP’s model and “Chinese wisdom” as solutions for the world’s problems and vowed to build a “community of common human destiny,” a CCP formulation for a China-led global governance regime.”

The CCP’s totalitarian approach to governance and egregious human rights abuses committed by them against their own citizens, along with serial abuses of international law, left the appended members of the Artemis Accords little choice but to exclude them. In the meetings, CCP government officials were given a choice to end their brutal policies, which include, but are not limited to state-sanctioned forced organ-harvesting, persecution of Tibetans, Uygurs, and Falun Dafa practitioners within China, along with widespread blackmail, bribery, and subterfuge of international organizations.

The CCP declined, opting to create its own parallel organization, inviting other countries to join. Only Venezuela, Azerbaijan, Pakistan, Belarus, South Africa, and Egypt have joined in some capacity.

The Artemis Accords facilitates the exchange of technology, personnel, and resources to engender a federated approach to space exploration. This comes at a time when electromagnetic propulsion craft will soon enter the public sphere, opening the stars up to humanity.

As we have seen recently, the U.S. military and other organizations are slowly acclimating the public to their presence by showcasing said technology in our skies (read between the lines here).

The CCP under Xi Jinping is trying to surpass the United States and the adjoining countries in the Artemis Accords in an effort to control the vast frontier of space. The CCP has made this one of their top priorities and has allocated vast sums of resources in this effort.

With a contracting economy, civil unrest, and widespread defections within the CCP, such an endeavor has weakened the CCP considerably. A few officials working with the U.S. military have stated that this excess spending by the CCP will lead to its collapse. The CCP in no way could compete with the trillions of dollars, more advanced technology, and friendship shared by the many members of the Artemis Accords.

The future of humanity is amongst the stars, a realm where the CCP will ultimately find its end.
